Vacation! My family's trip to the Smoky Mountains, TN | 2016 Family Reunion

I rarely post personal posts mainly because if I take pictures on my big girl camera, they often sit on my computer for a least a year. I'm really trying to change that so the moments captured can be shared, reminisced upon and then can be looked back on over the years to come. So in my recovery of "keeping my personal pictures in RAW in a folder on my external hard drive" problem, I am going to share our recent vacation to Tennessee!

First of all, we started planning this trip like ten years ago. Okay, it was probably about two but it felt like a lot more time. My husband's family decided to plan a big family vacation where all the aunt and uncles, cousins and the cousins' kiddos could all come together to create some amazing memories. Let's just say the goal was ACCOMPLISHED times a thousand.

I didn't pull my camera out too much but did for a scavenger hunt down the hill from our super duper amazing seven bedroom luxury cabin at Oak Haven resort, our trip to Ripley's Believe It or Not Aquarium in the cutest town ever of Gatlinburg, pool time, a very special magic show by our very own family magician, and some other random moments of the kids playing.

What I didn't capture was our trip to Dollywood, Dixie Stampeded (which the kids LOVED!!!!), family game night, and a few other pool days. My camera was in peoples' faces enough ;)

In total, we had about 45 people in five cabins. Our cabin had seven kiddos, ages three through six and three babies on the way! Because I have the most incredible sister in law in the entire world, our trip was even that much better. She seriously had activities planned for the kids AND adults for the entire week. I totally forgot to snap a pic of all the awesome creations the kids made and of course, she displayed, but let's just say there was never a moment of boredom.

I could go on and on about how awesome our week was, but I think this is a good time to just show the pictures. I am so blessed to have married into such an amazing family. So thankful for each and everyone of them. Xoxo.

  1. Awesome vacation! Thanks to everyone and can't wait for the next one. Love you all.

  2. Beautiful, as always, Adriane. I realized as soon as I clicked the link that I forgot to get pictures of all of the youngest generation and now I'm kicking myself. I'd even said to someone that we should have the kids plus the baby-bumps in it! Well, I suppose we need to go ahead and schedule our next family reunion so that we can be sure the three that are in the oven are in the shot too as well as all of those that we'll be surprised with in the meantime. How's the beach sound? Such a fantastic trip. I hope everyone enjoyed it even half as much as we did. Love you all so much!
