Buckeye Union High School & Cactus Shadows High School , Class of 2017 Senior Models | Phoenix, AZ Senior Photography

These two amazing girls wrap up the ART Senior Model Team - Class of 2017! You can check out the other models here and here.  They are both from different high schools from totally different parts of the Valley and I couldn't be more excited!

Meet Sierra and Bailee!

Miss Sierra is one HECK of an athlete! And hello, most perfect skin and teeth and hair. Her mama must feed her well ;) We had so much fun for her headshots. She like many others laughed a lot and didn't realize how much of a natural she is in front of the camera. Born model!

Are you ready for this? Sierra plays soccer, softball, volleyball and basketball for her high school. AND she is on Student Council and NHS and is involved in FCCLA. She is one busy girl who also manages to get AMAZING grades. I love her admiration for her parents. They are tough on her but she understands why and because of it, is such an amazing person. She is also outgoing, adventurous and funny.

Sierra, thank you so much for taking time out of your crazy schedule to join the team this year! It has already been such a pleasure making me even more elated to see what this year has in store for you. Here's to your SENIOR year! xo,

And it's Bailee from Cactus Shadows High School!

Bailee was referred to me by one of my closest {photographer} friends. She had nothing but amazing things to say about her. After reading her application, I knew she would be a perfect fit.

She did her photos on the same day as Miss Kayla so it was TOASTY! We started as soon as she got there to knock them out as soon as we could. She didn't say a word, but instead, just laughed, smiled and totally killed her head shots.

Bailee is energetic, sympathetic and honeset. She loves to cheer and is on her high school's Varsity Squad. She also teaches little kids gymnastics. After high school, she has big plans to attend SDSU to become a NICU nurse. So she has a huge heart, too!

Bailee!!! I am so thankful to have you part of the team this year. We are going to have so much fun at all of our shoots and especially at your senior session! Lots of laughter coming our way, I'm sure. Lots of love,

Valley Vista High School Class of 2017 Senior Models | Surprise, AZ Senior Photographer

Here are the ART Senior Models from Valley Vista High School!!! They all have just as beautiful hearts as they are on the outside.

First up, Miss Hannah! She was the very first person to apply to be a model and I think I jumped up and down when her application came in. She is EXACTLY who I was looking for. I am so flattered she chose to join the team this year.

She is energetic, loud and kind-hearted. She has THE best laugh and exudes joy and confidence. Hannah is on her high school's Varsity Cheerleading team, Student Council and is very involved in her church by being a Jr. High and 3rd Grade Leader. As I write this, she and Miss Karly (see below) are in Nairobi, Kenya ministering to children. HUGE HEART alert!

Hannah, I am so incredibly thankful you chose me to be your senior photographer and to be part of the team this year. We are going to have the BEST year!!! And there's something about you that makes me want to type everything in CAPS. LOL!

Next up is Karly! Check out her teal eyes! Absolutely stunning!!!

She was probably the absolute cutest in front of the camera. I asked her to do a serious face and instead, she would just laugh hysterically causing everyone else to laugh! We did manage to sneak a few in. Karly is involved in soccer, her church (as she's in Kenya right now, too!) and Student Council. She plans on going to Grand Canyon University next year to become a Youth Pastor.

Karly! You are such a joy to photograph! I think I smiled the entire time you were in front of the camera. You are the perfect addition to the team and I can't wait for our next shoot together!

And drum roll..... Miss Kayla! Only the most humble and kindest girl I've ever met! The first time she stepped in front of my camera was in the Spring for her family photos (which I just realized I never blogged and definitely need to!). I couldn't wait to ask if she would be part of the team once applications were ready.

Because of her sand volleyball tryouts, she had to do her head shots a different day than the rest of the girls. Great news is she made the team! I don't know how she plays outdoors in 100+ degree heat but she lives and breathes the sport! Bad news was her photos were scheduled on our first 110 degree day of the season. We met early and finished before there were any red cheeks or sweat but it was still toasty!

Kayla is sweet, trustworthy and kindhearted. She's also so humble and doesn't realize how absolutely gorgeous she is making her that more beautiful. Besides sand volleyball, she plays club volleyball and for her high school. She loved being part of the yearbook staff and is involved with her church including volunteering at their summer camp.

Kayla, I absolutely adore you, girl! I am SO excited you decided to become an ART Model! You are so perfect for the team. Oh, and I totally wish I had your hair! Here's to an amazing senior year!!!!

Shadow Ridge High School Class of 2017 Senior Models | Surprise, AZ Senior Photographer

This year, the ART Model team has three girls from Shadow Ridge High School in Waddell! They also happen to be besties and have been since third grade. I'm so excited to have them all on the team this year!

Meet Miss Samantha:

Sam is outgoing, energetic and spirited and totally adorable! She is an All-American Cheerleader and on her high school's Varsity squad. She lives and breaths it. I absolutely love her dedication to her sport.Something she has in common with me that she is a perfectionist. I love that her perfectionism is where she finds her confidence and drive to do better. After high school, she plans on majoring in nursing and eventually becoming a doctor.

Dream big, Sam! I am so excited to be part of your senior year and can't wait to get to know you better!

Introducing Sara:

Miss Sara has the BEST laugh. She was voted to get her pictures done first and was so cute in front of the camera. Mostly, she laughed. Love her personality so much! She is an athletic trainer assistant for her school, has a job and still maintains to get honor roll every quarter! Her dream job is to become a pediatric doctor or surgeon.

I hope you achieve your dreams, Miss Sara. For now, have the best senior year ever!!! Thanks for letting me be part of it.

And last but not least from SRHS, Miss Madison!

Maddie sure knows what the camera likes. She has so much personality in both person on film (or digital, but you know what I mean!). She is funny, outgoing and free spirited. She is a Varsity Cheerleader for her high school and is so excited for her senior year.

Miss Maddie! You are fabulous! Thank you for joining the ART Senior Model Team this year. We are going to have a blast together. Here's to your best year yet. ~xoxo

ART Senior Models, Part One! | High School Senior Photographer AZ

Last year, after working with a team of high school girls for the first time, I realized this is what I want to do and who I want to work with. The bonus to getting to know (and photograph) them was getting to know their mommas. Seriously icing on the cake for me!

So of course, I couldn't wait to get the applications out this year. I welcomed my new class of 2017 ART Senior Models (and got to meet most of their awesome mommas) early May. Six of the girls were available to get together for our first little group session a morning before it got too hot at the end of that month. The weather was perfect. The dancing was fun. Their personalities are adorable. And we had such a great morning together. The last two models weren't as lucky with weather as we shot at 9:00am and I believe it was already 98 degrees hitting our first 110 degree day of the year, BUT they still rocked it and got through it without sweating too much.

For these shoots, the girls did their own hair and make up and styling. I just wanted to get them all together for a few head shots and some group red, white and blue pics to be shared over the summer.

The planning for our big styled shoot in September is underway. It's going to be a good one and in perfect timing at the beginning of their senior year! We cant't wait! Until then, enjoy the official introduction of the 2017 ART Senior Model Team!

Each girl will have their own blog post so I can introduce them so here are a few bestie/friend/new friend shots we got :)

Kristina, BUHS Senior | Phoenix, AZ High School Senior Portraits

Kristina's session was done at the same time as her sister's --> you can check out her session Here.  I really can't say it enough. I am so thankful that I met Kristina and Mekayla (and her mom and her other sister).

Their senior session is what I think all sessions should be like. Lots of laughter and for it to be completely about them and their personality. Graduating high school is a big freaking deal and being able to capture it in photos should be too! My hope is they will look back at these pictures 10, 20, 30 years from now and not only remember the laughter and experience but what life is like right now for them. For it to be a reflection of all they have accomplished and who they have become.

Okay, back to Kristina! This girl is HILARIOUS!!!!! She causes the type of laughter that literally hurts your stomach and cheeks. For the very first outfit, I shot Mekalya first so she could watch. When it was her turn, she wasn't sure how to stand, sit or move. She just kept laughing. And so did we. Her huge ear to ear open mouth laugh is THE best and we sure saw a lot of it. She wasn't so sure until she saw herself on the back of my camera. Seeing her reaction was seriously the best part of the whole session for me. Her face LIT up when she saw how amazingly gorgeous she is. Because guess what! She is!

When we got to the second outfit, we did some sister pictures first. A blog post of those images will be coming soon! Being able to splash around in the water and laugh with her sisters got her loosened up. When we got to more solo shots of her is when Fierce Kristina came out! She just has one of those faces you would see in a magazine. As I was editing, there were a few photos that looked like Kate Bosworth!  Minus to the two different colored eyes :)

My favorite shots of Kristina are in the soft (yes, we found SOFT weed/grass stuff in Arizona) in her pastel pink dress. The colors complimented her blue eyes and skin tone so well. And of course, we laughed more.

After we were finished in the river, we drove south to the end of the river that was dried up and a huge sandbox. The sun was just setting. It was perfection.

Just as the sun was disappearing, we ended in the wide open desert surrounded by cactus. The skies were my favorite colors of purple, blue and pinks. Again, the Arizona sunset did NOT disappoint. The girls changed up their looks with more of a boho feel. By this time, Kristina was all posed out so she started jumping around and even tried doing a toe a short dress...with sandals the desert. It was so funny and obviously made for a great outtake! At one point she even asked if she should take her shoes off. Um, I would recommend keeping shoes on in the desert. Stepping on a cactus is no joke! And even though we were laughing so hard, we did get to see Fierce Kristina one more time.

Thank you, Kristina!!!!! I absolutely love your sense of humor and lack of fear. You are SO beautiful inside out and are going to some amazing things in this world. Congratulations on graduating. You did it!
