When photographing a young kiddo, I try to give some direction but most of the time, they run the show. That is what is so joyous about photographing kids. With adults, I can get a little more creative and have a little more control. They're not quite sure what to do so with my instruction, I can position them in a flattering way while directing them to get those natural smiles and expressions. I wanted some "couple posing practice" so I asked one of my rep's moms if I could do photos of her daughter with her boyfriend. She responded with an astounding, yes, because they adore the boyfriend. After meeting him, I could see why. He had some mad jumping skills too!
We didn't have a ton of time. Driving out to a brand new desert location with my handy dandy government trust land permit, the dark skies were closing in on us. We had faith that we wouldn't see any rain but were hoping for a few drops for the clear umbrella.
In the distance, lightening filled the sky. There were storm clouds and rain all around us. Somehow, though, we felt a few drops. We had to use the umbrella for those few drops, of course! Between the dark sky, the sun cutting through the clouds and new areas to explore, I was in heaven.
Thank you Chase and Tanner for helping me grow! You two are so adorable and have something so special. Thank you, Tanner, for humoring me with your heel click jump and for doing it over and over again. You are awesome!!! Running around the desert with you two was so much fun. I hope we get to do it again! Smiles,
