Anna and Grace | Surprise, AZ Photographer

Through some mutual friends this family and I found each other and I'm so thankful! They are so amazingly sweet and super fun to photograph.

The session was to capture sweet Anna's first birthday with of course, a cake smash at the end. She wasn't the happiest little camper as it was during almost sleepy time, but she managed to have a little fun with her big sister, Grace. And Grace. Oh my goodness, I could follow her around all. day. long. She sang and danced and loved on everyone in her family. And those eyes! She and her sister have the most incredible stop-you-in-your tracks eyes.

Kathryn and Stephen, thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your family. You are both so incredibly kind and a joy to hang out with. Lots of love,

James, 9 months old | Phoenix Photographer

Meet James. The cutest little red head! His sister was one of the very first babies I got to photograph during her first year. I saw James when he was a newborn and his mama decided they should probably capture some of his awesomness as a baby too. We met for a quick mini session at Heritage Square where he was serious for most of the time but flashed us a few smiles during some songs and ball throwing.

I don't know what it is but I'm definitely a sucker for a baby in a diaper cover with adorable rolls chillin in downtown Phoenix. His mama wasn't planning on being in any of the photos but he had other plans!

Thank you, Michelle, for having me capture your sweet sweet boy (and a few with you!) He sure lit up when in your arms. I wish I could've recorded you and your mom's adorable voices and singing trying to get him to smile. As always, it was such a pleasure getting to hang out with you even though it was just for a short time. Lots of love,

Arizona Summer | Phoenix, AZ Photographer

Because I'm always taking other people's photos, I was getting really bad at taking my own kids' pics. Well, they probably still have more photos than most people, but I'm a they're supposed to have even more!

I have been doing well getting my camera out but haven't been so good at posting them. I figured if I write a blog post, it'll actually get the photos out of the "need to edit" folder and out in the world for all our friends and family to see. Aaaaand they may even get printed. Whaaaaa?!

The other day, Memorial Day to be exact, my husband was building {another} project in the backyard so the kids and I went over to the park for lunch, story time and splash time. LOVE that we live right next door to one of these things. Oh my convenience! There were also some neighborhood boys selling lemonade and baseball cards. It doesn't get more perfect than this.

The boys usually last about 20 minutes at the splash pad. With umbrellas, I couldn't get them to leave after an hour and a half! They had a BLAST!

PS: don't tell anyone, but I kind of cheated with the editing. I just relied on Adobe Camera RAW and turned the ones where their faces were super orange from Nolan's neon suit into black and white. That's okay, I know my secret is safe with you!
