welcome | Chandler, Arizona Newborn Photographer

Two and a half years ago, I remember getting ready for my first full newborn session. I had take some pictures of two other newborns but didn't really set it up like I was planning on this Februrary day. I had read a few things, got a backdrop stand and thought I was ready to pose a baby. Thankfully, Miss Vivian slept for a little while letting us get a few set ups in. When I uploaded the pictures to my computer, I realized I should've shot from many different angles and editing was a whole other realm I wasn't so sure of.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I got to take pictures of Vivian's brand new baby BROTHER! This time, I was a lot more prepared and seasoned and have a lot more...stuff! We took baby brother's pictures in the same room but it had a brand new look to it as well! Looking back from then until now, one thing remains constant, newborns take a lot of time and practice especially when setting up in someone's house. So thankful this family welcomed me with open arms into their home to photograph their new bundle of joy.

As with all two year olds, it took a little time for Viv to warm up to the whole idea of photos but halfway through, she asked her mom where her "friend" was. Yep, she called me her friend. SCORE! She had no idea how awesome that made me feel. Right back at ya, girly!

Thank you D family for being so patient, kind and just darn awesome once again. I absolutely love seeing you all time and time again and am even more thankful for our friendship. Enjoy every second of your newest bundle. Congratulations! Lots of love,

Sweet as pie | Surprise, Arizona Baby Photographer

Miss L is six months! I still can't believe that my dear friend has a baby girl (after two boys)! Oh, she is the sweetest little baby ever. We decided to squeeze some photos in during a playdate so it took a little longer than we anticipated, but the date was so much fun.

We have been having some rainy days and the morning we decided to do photos, of course, the skies were extremely dark and overcast. It ended up working well since we were going to do some indoors anyways and it was quite comfortable outside.

I am so happy to announce that I now have an intern working with me. She is incredibly talented herself and we could not have pulled off this "playdate" without her! Since Miss L's momma stayed with the boys for the first outdoor shots, we just got a lot of serious looks but she finally cracked a smile or two when the boys joined us. And then when we ended with some "natural" shots, she was full of giggles. ADORABLE!

Thank you, L, for once again letting me photograph one of your beautiful babies and for a fun morning. Can't wait to hang out with you all again! Lots of <3,

Batters Up | Surprise, Arizona Child Cake Smash Photography

Meet {B}...the cutest little one year old! He just steals my heart every time I see him. Typically he is the smiliest happiest baby ever but with his car nap, it took him a while to wake up. His serious face is still as sweet and adorable as can be, so I'll take that too!

This is the second session I've done in my house and I have to say it's so nice to not have to load up my car with all the studio stuff. Since it has been so hot, we decided to do indoors and end with outdoors. Well, the weather decided to get goofy on us and a monsoon rolled in. Midway through, it got quite dark indoors but thank goodness for an external flash! We still tried to head outdoors but only got a few since it was dark and sprinkling. My son had fun holding the umbrella over my head though!

Oh, and I can't end this post without saying how adorable this themed session was. Everything baseball. Seriously, his mom did such a great job planning and his birthday party was just as amazing! We got a cake from Busy Bear Sweets - my new go to for cakes as it should be yours too! And my dear friend of Babywear by Momma Bear made the adorable bunting. I'm not sure where the diaper cover and tie were from but can we say adorable?! Maybe it had Bear in the name too ;)

Thank you {L} family for being so awesome. I seriously am so incredibly thankful to call you family and love it even more that I get to capture your sweet family. I can't wait for our makeup session! Lots of love,

after the rain | surprise, arizona maternity photographer

As a shower gift, a beloved client of mine bought this sweet couple a newborn gift certificate. They had another photographer lined up to do their maternity session. When that photographer was unable to do the session, I was called up and we ended up being able to do their maternity session the next day.

It was a gorgeous day then all of a sudden, dark skies rolled in, it rained, and then the most gorgeous skies followed. We almost cancelled but decided to keep the session and wow, did we get lucky with such a nice night...I think it was even in the 80's! We only had sun at the very beginning, but with the lush surroundings and beautiful colors, it didn't matter.

Thank you {O} {H} family for such a wonderful session. I can't wait to meet your baby girl soon!!
Lots of love,
