cool treat | Phoenix, Arizona Child Photographer

For my Arizona folks - you know that weekend in May that was miserably hot?! Well, of course, I had two mini sessions and two full sessions that weekend.

This little guy was first up. Thankfully we were able to cool down a little at the end by stopping at Papa Ed's icecream for a yummy treat. And they have air conditioning!

I first met this {C} in the Fall for some family pictures. It's amazing how much he has changed and how vocal he is. I loved his little personality. He still loved to throw some balls but also gave me lots of smiles and sang me some songs.

Hope you had a great second birthday {C}!!! You are one amazing little boy and have the most gorgeous blue eyes!

On the go | Glendale, AZ Child Photography

A family with three kids, ages three, almost two and six months...I knew it was not going to be super easy to get everyone close together and I was correct. However, even though it wasn't the easiest session doesn't mean it wasn't still a good one.

By letting the kids run around, push their baby sister in a {doll} stroller, sing "let it go", play in dirt, sing "I'm going to shake, shake, shake my sillies out", and just be them, we still managed to get a good gallery of photos! I even had the opportunity to go to their house on another day to get a picture of all three kids together. It was so nice to see them in their element and get to know them better. I just love meeting new friends.

Oh, and from this session, I got to witness the most amazing parents. Seriously! Hands down, they had to be the most patient and incredibly understanding and just loving parents I've ever seen. It was such a great reminder how parents should be with their very young kids who are just acting their ages.

Thank you, again, {W} family for letting me capture your adorable family. Can't wait to see you all again!

future ball player | Surprise, Arizona Newborn Photographer

Mr. {M} was the perfect little model. When discussing his session, his mom knew she wanted to do a little bear cub set, a hammock shot and a football set up.  Naturally Sweet Surprises custom-made the cutest little bear cub hat and paws and whipped up a football hat just in time since {M} decided to arrive a little early.

In the newborn photography world, there are a few poses that are actually composites which means two photos are merged together. We tried the froggy pose (facing forward, chin in hands where it looks like they're holding themselves up but actually aren't), but he just wasn't feeling it. We got close! I will only try this pose if absolutely asked because of the extra work and safety that goes into it. And the other pose we really wanted to try was where he would be lying in a "hammock." He wasn't loving it either but we managed to get one shot which turned out beautiful! It is a composite. I only mention so other photographers realize someone's hands were holding him at all times, and I just merged two photos together deleting the hands so it appears he is hanging.

The session couldn't have gone more smoothly thanks to my amazing assistant, Stephanie of Telltales Photography. I wish she could come along to every session I do! And {M}'s parents were incredibly patient and sweet as they watched their sweet baby boy during his first photo shoot.

And since I didn't have a chance to blog {M}'s gorgeous mama's maternity session, here are a few pictures from that as well. We got lucky with amazing weather and such a gorgeous night up at the White Tank Mountains.

Congratulations, {M} Family! And thank you for being so incredibly kind, patient and amazing to work with. Little {M} is going to have one bright future.

beautiful | Surprise, Arizona Newborn and Child Photographer

My spring schedule was a little hectic and I wasn't sure I'd get to photograph this little beauty. Her mom was so gracious and was going to hire my amazingly awesome bestie, Stephanie, of Telltales Photography if I couldn't do it. Well, she got a twofer because we were both available and worked together on this session. I absolutely love working with her and we had the best little girls to photograph.

The session started with Stephanie doing a little three year session with big sister {K} then we got lots of pictures of the girls together and family then {K} was ready for her photo shoot and totally rocked it. I loved how her mom chose a lot of grays and purples. Such perfect colors for a perfect gift from God.

I took the lead on posing {K} on the box and Steph took the lead in the wire basket. I wasn't going to take any pictures but I seriously couldn't resist. So beautiful.

Thank you {B} family for letting both Stephanie and I photograph your beautiful family. Congratulations again!
