orange groves, cowboy and cake smash, oh my | Waddell, AZ Child Photographer

I met this little man back when he was in his mommy's belly! Okay, I didn't really shake his hand or anything, but did get to meet his family including his aunt and uncle and grandparents back before he was born. His mom had a very fun cake smash session planned using one of the old Ford trucks on the ranch. Planning this session was so easy and fun with her. She needs to go into styling photo sessions for a living!

When kids are happy and the parents allow them to have fun, the pictures reflect that and it makes me one happy photographer! One thing I can still hear from this session is the mom's laughter. It was so contagious. Every time she laughed, little "D" would laugh too. My favorite pictures are when he and his mom were just dancing and laughing in the orange trees. Making memories are my favorite to capture.

At the end, we ended on the truck. I don't know what it is, but there's somethign about the sound a very old truck makes that causes little boys to just smile so big. Little "D" was having so much fun dancing and crawling around the truck then he changed into overalls and a cowboy hat (READ: Oh, my cuteness!) and even got to ride a little (toy) horse before smashing into his cake. Pixy Cakes did such a great job making a simply polka dot blue and white cake for this little man. At first he wasn't so sure, but once he got a little taste, he couldn't get enough. We all enjoyed a little after the session concluded.

Thank you, "J" family for such a great session. I'm so happy I got to see you again and really enjoyed our time on the farm!
