adventure | Surprise, AZ Waddell, AZ maternity and family photographer

Where do I begin with this post? Hmmm. Well, this family found me through searching the internet. Yay! I get excited about new clients and new friends. They wanted some maternity pictures done and hadn't gotten family pictures done in a while nor have they had this type of natural light, lifestyle type of session. Yay and double yay! But going into it, since we had never met and mainly did all of our pre-session planning via email, I really had no idea what to expect. By the end of our session, my heart was so full. I couldn't get home fast enough to upload their photos to my computer.

After sending location suggestions, this family decided to go to the ranch; my go-to location. Since there were no babies involved we decided to take a little adventure. We walked and walked and heard some coyotes, walked a little more, heard a lot of cows, and walked a little more until we found an abandoned house. They were up for anything and so was I. It was an old adobe style home with cool textures and perfect light. As we were finishing up though, we did see a bull approaching where we were staring us down. Again, the fam was totally cool, and I was...trying. Ha! By the time we were heading back to the orchards, the entire house was surrounded by cattle. Kind of crazy, for this city girl anyways.

After the house, we went to two other locations. It was so much fun. Little "C" or Bean as her paernts call her (hello! she is totally a "Bean!") was the sweetest little girl I've ever met. She laughed and posed and just interacted with her parents in the most tender way. She is going to be her new baby sister's best friend and such an amazing role model.

Thank you "D" family for being up for anything, for being so awesome and chill, and for letting me capture who YOU are! I loved every second of the planning process, the session and of course, editing. Can't wait to meet baby "R" in the Fall!

summer weather | Surprise, Arizona extended family photographer

Something I really enjoy doing is photographing family when they are here visiting. I love seeing the nice fresh tans and shorts as most of the time they're from somewhere cold. This mini session was for grandma's birthday who flew down here with grandpa from Alaska! I think it may just be a tad chilly up there right now.

We started the session with some traditional group shots then let baby "C" lead the way. With his little chubby legs and scrunched up nose, he had us all smiling and laughing. He's getting used to his teeth so his tongue was out quite a bit too just making him even cuter. Oh, and that hat? Swoon!

Thank you "H" and "F" families for taking a break in your visit together for some family photos. Your color scheme makes me ready for summer!

girly | Litchfield Park, AZ Newborn Photographer

This family needs no introduction as they have graced my blog many times and even before this blog was named ART Photography. They helped me launch my business and gave me lots of practice with their first, then second boy and now baby GIRL!

My dear friend "L" wanted a girl so badly. I think I even saw some sparkly shoes in the nursery before she even knew the gender of her third baby. I happened to see her on the day she found out and her excitement filled the entire room we were in which was huge because we were in a gym! I was so incredibly excited for her. She gives me hope that it can be done...if we decide to try for a third. That's a whole different blog though.

I got to meet baby "L" in the hospital when she was just a day old and then again for her real session. Before this beauty's session, her mama was worried about big brother number two. Mr. "K" is only two years old and we just weren't sure how he would do. She was very correct in him not completely cooperating, but honestly, he surprised us all! It was a very difficult time of day, aka: nap time, so he was tired anyway. Then, shove a camera in his face, of course there would be a few tears. We were able to finish with him and the other boys so he was able to sleep while we focused on precious gorgeous baby "L". Oh my goodness, it was love at first sight!

"G" family, thank you so incredibly much for trusting me with your precious baby girl. I can't believe it. You have a daughter!!! You are so blessed. Thank you for letting me be part of your lives. xoxo

red...and pink | Glendale, AZ child photographer

Since my sophomore year of college, I have suffered from daily headaches. I have them pretty much every. single. day. They stink but in a way, I've gotten used to them. I've been to many doctors over the years and am getting help from an AMAZING person and doctor now. She happens to be these two gorgeous girls' mama. I am incredibly thankful to be her patient and to have photographed her little girls.

The session was for her daughter's THIRD birthday and of course, her big sister had to hop in a few as well. We decided to do oldtown Glendale since it was close and had some fun brick walls. Their red dresses were perfect with their dark features and the location. I have not had so much fun with a little three year old before. We seriously, danced, twirled, hopped, skipped, and just enjoyed capturing different facets of each girls' personality. I even got invited to a tea party (which I found out later was never happening, but I was still flattered to be invited to a pretend one)!

We ended at one of my favorite spots with all the ivy and white picket fence. The sun was setting fast so we didn't have a ton of time, but just enough to capture the girls being silly together.

Thank you Dr. V for being such an amazing doctor, friend and person. And for allowing me to have so much fun with your girls. Can't wait to see you all again!!!
