The {S} family in the desert | Phoenix, West Valley Photographer

I met this sweet family when Lindsey was just four weeks old. Since then, I got to watch her grow from behind my lens. The last session we did was her cake smash we did at their new house.

It had been a whole year!

This time we went out in the desert – a theme for me this past Fall – and let Lindsey run around in the golden light in her mama’s Christmas dress. I love vintage things, yummy light, the desert and this family!

Thank you {S} family for once again having me take your family photos and Lindsey’s birthday photos. Your little girl is beyond blessed to have you as parents. Lots of love,

These girls.

There’s not much to say than to just look at these photos. I don’t think their mom and dad or me stopped laughing the entire time. Thankfully it was just a mini session or I probably would’ve had some sore cheeks! We checked out another new desert spot, hugging, twirling, dancing, and playing with some fake snow.

Thank you A & A for always making me smile (and laugh!). It’s always a good time and I absolutely love that you don’t hold anything back. You are such beautiful girls who are going to do amazing things in this world. Lots of love,

Vacationing in Arizona | Surprise, AZ Family Photographer

For the first time, I got a message from someone I did not know that said she was a photographer (from Canada) wanting to hire me to do their family photos. Of course, the first thing I did was find her page and wow, I was blown away with how amazing her photos are. Check her work out for yourself: www.masikamayphotography.ca. The weddings she has photographed, her locations, the people, her over-all style…I was blown away. And she wanted ME to take her photos. I was a tad nervous. Okay, I was super nervous until they stepped out of their car. As soon as we met, I immediately knew we were a good fit.

Because they live in a lush, green, waterscape, oozing-with- gorgeousness area, they wanted something different so we headed into the beautiful desert.

We started with a casual look in a white rock wash then they dressed into their fancy duds which happened to coordinate perfectly with the ever-changing Arizona night sky. My nerves returned a few times when the kids decided to play with the jummping chollas but at least they used sticks to knock parts of the cacti off and no one was injured.

We were up in the mountains, so golden hour was shortened. This didn't stop us from chasing the light. We spent a little time surrounded by the purple-ish mountains then hopped in the car, jumped out, and literally ran into the desert to catch the sun moments before it disappeared behind the mountains. When working with a photographer, she understood why we needed to rush! Also, because she is always the one taking the photos, we took some time to do some updated head shots for her as well. The rest of the session was full of love and the pink sky set the perfect mood.

Thank you so much, Masika, for reaching out to me. I enjoyed every second of your session and am so blessed to have you now as a friend. We need to have more coffee dates when you're back in Phoenix!  Lots of love,
