Rock Your Socks Off Stylized Session! | Surprise, AZ Fun Child Photographer

Back in March, I wanted to do a little photo session for a promo referral program I was going to run. I asked my friend, Deanna, if I could borrow her daughter (who I just did her three year pics!) to do some fun pictures with my son, Vaughn.

We had so much fun styling this session! Deanna made a tutu and cute choker for Addison and I went to some hand-me-down stores to find a fun outfit for Vaughn. The colors of the shoot were grays, blacks and purples because of my branding colors. They both looked adorable! Seriously matching converse shoes?!

Well, I ended up getting super busy which meant I didn't need to solicit for business (so blessed!) nor did I have time to edit the photos until now. It's amazing how much I've learned just since March. It was fun to go back and work on something I did four months ago though! And I can't believe how much the kiddos have changed since then.

We ended up staying in the neighborhood, gave the kids some instruments, told them to sing, dance, and have fun together. The light was super weird that night with a crazy haze in the sky. It set the tone for our Rock Your Socks off shoot. We didn't really call it that but as I'm typing while tired, that sounded pretty great to me. Ha!

More than anything, I love that my son has these fun pictures of one of his first close friends. I wish I had something like this from my childhood! He probably won't care, but I do!

Enjoy :) Oh, and I get to make some fun referral cards now for my "You Rock" Promotion! Stay tuned!

Addison, three years old having fun in the orange groves | Surprise, AZ Child Photographer

To date, I think this has to be my favorite session. I have been wanting a certain look to my photos and am constantly looking at others and comparing and studying and learning (and driving my husband nuts)...but wait for it...Doo Doo Doooo or insert a drum roll here...this is it! And it didn't hurt that my little model isn't only gorgeous but so incredibly fun to photograph. She sure knows how to have enjoy herself!

I always go into a session wanting to just let the kid play and capture them doing what they do best, but I end up making them pose and making them look into my camera versus letting them naturally do it. I did a little of that with Addison but for the most part, I just let her do her thing and truly captured her being...her!

My favorite picture is of her with her hands on her shoulders. To get her to do this, I was asking her if a chicken said, "moo", instead, she was trying to flap like a chicken and said it says, "quack, quack..." LOVE IT!

I got to photograph Addison back in March and I was extremely excited when her mom asked me to do her three year photos especially since her mom is a pretty darn good photographer herself. She asked me on Sunday and we did the pictures on Monday! She kept going back and forth whether or not she needed more time. I felt bad for the rush but we had a break in the weather with it only being in the low nineties with clouds. And we met at my new favorite location. It couldn't have  been more perfect. So thank you miss Addison's mommy for getting her (super cute outfit) together so quickly!

Addison has the biggest and sweetest personality. My boys absolutely adore her and Vaughn often tells me often that she is his "bestest" friend. I can't wait to watch her grow. I enjoy every minute we spend with her and her family.

Happy Birthday, Miss A! You are just stunning and I know it in my heart, that this is going to be such a wonderful year for you!

Nolan is ONE...3 months ago | Surprise, AZ Baby Photographer

My little nugget turned one in April but I was extremely blessed and busy at that time and am finally getting caught up. I at least took pictures of him a few days after his birthday, but they've been sitting in a folder (as have his newborn...I REALLY need to edit those!) staring at me every time I edited a family's session. I finally got them edited today and he's just too cute. Yep, I may be a bit biased, but you can check him out for yourselves!

...and now for some nakey-butt pics with a cute tie from AdBre Creations!

Let's just say, doing these kind of pictures where I was trying to keep him turned around without anyone helping me, was a tad bit challenging! We made it work though with the help of some toys.

my lil sis | surprise, az photographer

Meet Casandra. Since she was little, I have made her climb trees, dress in ridiculous outfits, cover herself in leaves, run up and down our yard, and pose in the most ridiculous ways all to get the perfect picture; at least in my teenage mind. I have always been obsessed with taking pictures and my first victims, I mean subjects, were my little brother and sister.

My sister turned 21 (!) in June and came out to visit a week before her birthday with our dad. It was quite warm, but I knew she never had professional pictures done other than JC Penney's and studio-type for her senior pics. When she packed, she probably had no idea she'd be doing a photo shoot, but then again, she knows me pretty well!

We went to a neighborhood nearby to check it out since I've never been. The stone bridge was just gorgeous. We took Vaughn along who was quite the adventurer.

It was fun and I hope Cassandra loves her pictures! Can't wait for next time...wink wink!
