Brown Family Again! | Scottsdale, Arizona Family Photography

This is my last post of 2012! I can not believe I started my own business and have grown so much over the course of the year. Oh, and I had another baby, too!

Throughout the year, I got to meet some incredible people including this wonderful family, the Browns. I first met them in November and was so excited when Lauren asked me to come take pictures again of her side of the family at the same gorgeous location. When they arrived, I felt as if we've known each other for years. They have a special way of making me feel like I'm part of the family.

Getting to meet people like Lauren has really made me want to continue to take pictures and capture families. I wish I lived closer so we could hang out sans the camera (okay, I'd probably bring it along because her boys are just too cute!). We just have such a great time together. And it was such an honor to meet her sweet parents or according to Julian, "Oma" and "Choo Choo".  They just had their 37th wedding anniversary and acted as if they just got married. I had no problems getting them to get close.

We went to some of the same spots as our last session along with some new finds. I loved all the fun rustic benches they had. And to end the session, we went into the gorgeous women's lounge to take some nakey pictures of little Gabriel and his gorgeous big blue eyes.

As we were finishing up, Lauren made a comment about how taking pictures was addicting. I couldn't agree more. Here's to 2013 and hopefully it includes some more Brown family pictures! Thank you for such an amazing end to a great year.

Block + Johnson + Chevalier, Extended Family | Scottsdale, AZ Extended Family Photographer}

This year has been incredible! I have gone from taking a few photos for friends and at birthday parties to turning it into a business. The part I'm loving the most is meeting new people and witness amazing family dynamics and relationships and love. I am incredibly thankful for an amazing photographer friend of Carrie Fay Photography who has referred me a few families this year. If not, I wouldn't have had an opportunity to meet this wonderful family.

This session was many different kinds wrapped into one - family, toddler, baby and maternity! It kept me on my toes but I had a blast running around and capturing every moment. Avery's little dress was ridiculously adorable with her teal accents and little Willie's facial expressions just made my day. I still can't get over the picture of him with one eyebrow lifted - I still can't do that!

My favorite moment of the whole sessions was watching little Willie smile huge while Avery sang Christmas songs while on their grandparents' laps. They were in their own little world. I love stepping back and click away.

 Thank you Block, Johnson and Chevalier families for letting me spend a few hours with you.  I hope you had an amazing Christmas and time together!

Amundson Family | Surprise, AZ Family and Teen Photography

I am so blessed to know this family! The mom and I met when we worked together for a church. She is one of the sweetest and kindest people I know. She cares so much for people and especially for her family. I am so thankful to have her as a friend. After a few reschedules, I couldn't wait to take her family's pictures!

This was the very first time I've taken pictures of a teenager. And wow, what a gorgeous teenage girl. Her eyes just soak in the light and she has the most gorgeous smile. Her brother was so easy to work with, too, running, throwing leaves, posing (well, this one we had to work on, but it added to the fun!), and jumping. I didn't even have to use my crazy toddler tactics!

Towards the end, we decided to try some fake snow pictures. We don't get much of the real stuff here so it was fun to act like it was snowing. I kind of miss the snow but definitely prefer the 70 degree temperatures and gorgeous sunsets in December. And speaking of sunsets, I finally got to try some silhouette pictures which I've never done before either. We used some candy canes they brought along which created for some Christmas sunset love. I was kind of sad when the sun began to set because I just had a blast with the Amundsons! Merry Christmas!

Cruz, 3 months | Scottsdale, AZ Baby Photographer

Little Cruz is getting so big so fast! We got together in November to capture his cuteness. I could not believe how incredibly happy he was. It was even a little cold outside and he still gave me all smiles. I can't wait to see him in a few months to see how much he's grown.
