Steven - 9 months, Christine - 3 years old!

I can't believe Christine is already three years old! I have known her since she was about nine months (which is how old her handsome little brother, Steven, is now) and have watched her grow more and more beautiful every year. Going into it, I had no idea how hard this session would be for me. It wasn't hard getting them to smile or anything like that, but for some reason I found myself tearing up TWICE. Ya, not once but twice. How pathetic am I? But seriously, I can remember when she was scooting around the house so her knees wouldn't hurt, her first week of walking, when she was signing and later how impressed I was that she could speak in sentences well before she was even two. And when her mom could finally put her hair up into a pony tail! So I guess I have an excuse, right?

Shortly after I got there, their mom pulled out a huge bag of fun. So many outfits and accessories to choose from, let's just say I had a lot of fun with the bag of fun. My favorite part was all the cute bows that matched each outfit perfectly. And for Steven, a super cute hat. I think I mentioned before that I'm a sucker for baby boys in hats! With all the different looks, it was very hard to choose a few for this post. So instead, I chose just a little more than few...

And lastly, Christine's three year pictures - pretty in pink!

let's call this one, Erin and fam

When I took Erin's family photos back in March she asked me if I would be up for a session with her extended family before they moved to Washington D.C. Her parents, her brother and girlfriend and Randy's parents were all going to be flying in from different parts of California to spend time with them before they moved across the country. I was a little nervous, but of course, I accepted and am glad I did. What an enjoyable family to be around.

It is June in Arizona and we got together early evening, therefore, it was just a tad hot. Okay, it was very hot, which made it hard to venture off to different locations, but we were able to have a ton of fun playing games and taking turns with the mister, icy wash cloths, and lots of water bottles. Thank you, Kris! Break time became our two favorite words.

For me, it was such a great learning experience to take pictures of such a large family. Adjusting settings quickly, making sure I get all combinations of family members, finding good spots, making sure I drank water, and chasing after the kids. Let's just say I was exhausted by the end! It was also a change to take pictures of mostly adults - when you ask them to do something, they do it! So, thank you, Krekeler and Gedestad families, for letting me spend an hour and a half with you all in the heat doing what I love. And to Erin and Randy, I will miss you and your family very much. Enjoy Washington D.C. and say hi to the trees, grass and the Potomac for me!

Kaenaan - 9 months

Where did the time go? Kaenaan is already nine months! The last time I took his pictures, he was barely sitting up and now, not only does he sit up, he recently started crawling. And what a happy baby. All I had to do was look at him and he would just smile and coo. I even caught that one top tooth he now has. Can we say, super adorable? And those eyes, I couldn't get enough!

We had a fun short session because of the summer heat. Before we were done, though, the boys got in their swim gear and got wet at the splash pad. I absolutely love the SPLASH of color with the yellows, reds and Kaenaan's fun hat and trunks. I can't wait to see what he'll be doing in three more months!

Tyri Marie: just born

I had the privilege to meet my dearest friends' newest addition, Tyri just a few hours after she was born even before she had her first bath. Her parents couldn't stop staring at her and neither could I. She is such a gorgeous little bundle of joy. She is so tiny weighing at just 5 lbs, 11 oz!

Her big brother, Jayce, had been waiting for her for a very long time. He came in with his grandparents just after I did. He was a little hesitant at first, but it didn't take long before he couldn't stop giving his sister lots of kisses. In between playing his new big brother toy, he would just stare at her. Precious!

I think I officially love being a fly on the wall (with a camera in hand, of course!) right after a baby is born. The room is filled with love, excitement and just pure happiness. And the baby is so tender, sleepy and just wanting to soak all that love in. I love watching each person of the family's eyes as they stare in their own way at God's creation. Thank you, Alicia and Brian, for letting me part of such an amazing time in your lives. Congrats on your new baby girl! Love you guys!

Emily, Maggie, Myles, Victoria and Landin...

All the grand kids were in the same timezone so they decided to get together for some pictures for their grandparents! And not only were they celebrating being together, they were celebrating a first birthday.

It wasn't the easiest task getting five kids from six months to 14 years old to smile, but we did have fun trying to be the loudest laughing or singing some songs...well, I at least had fun while the kids kind of looked at me like I was a crazy person. Isn't that part of being a photographer? And surprisingly, the baby was the easiest to get smiles out of. I don't think I've seen a happier baby. In all, it was a great morning.

It was a great session after taking two months off after having my little man. Enjoy!
